Re: Xmas 1-2-3, Winter 1, Narcotics, and a dangling map

Wow… I was just thinking about this the other day… hard to believe Winter 1 was 11 years ago... I have the original versions of the Xmas 3 and Winter 1 maps, and I think I posted later versions of Xmas 3 and Winter 1 on fileball.bungie.org instead of simplici7y, but that site seems to have gone offl...

I actually tried out some 3d objects I made recently in A1. I had to flip my texture file vertically after I had created it for some reason... I initally thought it was some weirdness of my 3d program, but it might be what's wrong with yours.

If aleph one was a business market, 3D scenery sets is an unexplored niche with high payback. - high usage - good longevity - fills the unspoken demand for 3D scenery. Helping people with project X is a more risky business. The fail rate is high, and you only get a percentage of the glory. Say 10%....

Oh, I also have printer's ink.
My new project is also somewhat understaffed, some printer's ink would be nice!

Can't get this to happen. Can you post your system specs, and what shape files / collections make ShapeFusion crash for you? I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8. It seems that only some things cause this error [attachment=5417:Picture_13.png] For instance, when I pasted this one in, the old set's sequences...

Wow, this is awesome. No more dependence on Shapes Juggler for collection swapping! I noticed that in the physics editor you can use collection numbers greater than 31, does this mean that we can actually use extra collections now? Ooh, and I found an error too! Whenever you copy into a new collecti...

I like the design of Shadowbreaker's except for the lighting on the outer cog. The idea I had when making shiny stuff was that making sense wasn't that important. I guess I was wrong [MTongue] . I made an attempt at correcting some of the light (in the first one), and then I tried making one with j...

I think it fits with the Weland icon pretty well.

I have other ideas for what the icon could be too, I'll see if I can make them.

How many chapters do you think it's gonna be then? The problem with chapter releasing is that you never know when you're gonna have to go back and change things.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have never played the original Marathon. I've only played it's conversion, M1A1. Now, since the release of Aleph One 1.0, I'm ready to play the games (again) as they would of been played more than a decade ago, but M1 is still a conversion. I see on http://marathon.so...

If you are enlisting help, would you be willing to provide your textures? I assume they are different than those from Winter II, since the textures had not been complete at that time. The Winter II textures, at the time that I stopped, consisted mainly of 1 set, an enormous 103 texture set which I ...

(I loves me my glow maps) Zenith and his distrustful crew have returned from the strange swamp planet to their usual acts of piracy: stealing ships, plundering treasure, avoiding the authorities. After what seems to be a typical day of looting, however, Zenith reveals that he has acquired a "t...

I tested it out and noticed some problems with the Scenario Seeker. I tested out several scenarios by selecting them from an Aleph One in my downloads folder, and some of them appeared to work and others didn't. When they "didn't work", the screen was black and had a mouse, and allowed me ...

Instead, I'll share a drawing I made at the time, about 10 years ago now, when I was in high school. I realize I'm exposing myself to ridicule, but this doodle perfectly captured my feelings at that moment.

Now that you posted that I was able to determine that the problem must've been a physics model I had loaded. I am getting the Bobs now. The physics must've somehow given me a machinegun trooper. The trooper problem is my fault. But, it shouldn't have happened. You aughta merge physics into your maps...

Who doesn't shoot grenades? The only thing up the stairs is a 2x canister. I was thinking of making the door open on a platform trigger near the terminal, so it's impossible to try and fight off a large group of fighters and troopers without at least some protection. I thought that the Assault Rifl...

Well I like it. I think this one cramp room provides one thing I like most of any scenario out there. ATMOSPHERE. It's possible to be un-cramped and still have atmosphere. At lot of scenarios have atmospheric, yet comfortably large rooms. This room starts you out with rebellion health and a trooper...

I just gave this scenario a try, and had a few things to say about it. My main problem was that 3 of the levels didn't work, at least for me. You are doing a much clearer and more shape conscious job than I did when I remade a few of these for my own purposes. In response to the previous posts about "stronger" monsters with "more damage" being more fun to play, I'd like to point out that RED seemed to follow this philosophy, and in the end was basically unbeatable without at least 2 bars of health at all times. In fact, the last few le...
