Re: Security Officer 3D Model!

Nah, I wouldn't say that. I was going for a U-2 flight suit vibe, which was already a departure from all the canon artwork. It never came through in the (pretty terrible) model, though, and I never textured it, so only sweatpants remain. [MTongue] I don't want to distract from Corruptinator's work, ...

Re: Security Officer 3D Model!

Lol dude, I made those same pants almost six years ago.

Glad to see this forum is still active, and also that the Pfhorums are still active.

How long have you been using Blender?

Strangely enough, I'm GMT-5 and often hooked up with New Zealanders, Africans, and Europeans, in Halo 3 and the games don't have any lag. Same case in any racing games, where EVERYONE'S European, or at least have European/Australian accents. It's kind of awesome, but still puzzling. If anyone's up f...

when someone makes a helpful suggestion, accept it graciously (or, if you must, ignore it) rather than trying to argue from a position of ignorance. You forgot the option of arguing from an educated perspective. When I know exactly why I've done something, I'm not just going to say, "ok, fine,...

The description I see makes no mention of tech junkies, but it does mention "the engine itself." Aleph One's features and functionality (Lua, MML, the engine itself, etc) If that doesn't spell programming-oriented, I don't know what does. Obivously, a lot of people here are not programmer...

Why bother to have subforums at all, then? It's not like I posted it in Japanese Chat... The project's name is Marathon: Aleph One, after all. And judging from the description, that forum doesn't seem entirely appropriate anyway. The Aleph One forum is for the tech junkies while Marathon Discussion...

Yeah, I know, but I figured more people would see it here, which is kind of vital to the purpose of the post. I just glanced at the "last post" dates for both forums.

I voted for Aleph One as "best project for gamers."

Sure, we'll probably lose, but hey, may as well vote.

1. Halo - for having the most beautiful music and "filmmaking" I've seen in a game, and the most insanely in-depth multiplayer component of all time. 2. Marathon - for having the best story and most immersive storytelling method I've seen. 3. Ghost Recon - for being a game in which you can...

Wowzers, were all those textures created for this project? Aside from that one greyish floor texture (it doesn't tile very inconspicuously), they're excellent.

What have they done to Philadelphia!!!??? Hehe, nothing; it actually says "New Philadelphia," but I had cropped away half of it. Of course, after I made the sign I learned there actually is a New Phildelphia somewhere. Oh well, they can have two. :P Now you can see the Marathon in its not...

Cryos: Just wondering, have you considered using ambient occlusion when rendering the weapon-in-hand sprites? The models are great, but with proper shadowing/lighting, they'd look awesome. :)

Treellama: Hehe, almost. The Mars one would need some slight editing (and removal of signpost XD), but the nebula would work already. And yes, I do paint in very high resolutions. These are shrunk down drastically. Cryos: Cool! I haven't seen it yet, I shall go check it out. :) Edit: NEATO! I can't ...

you just picked one of the worst points about them and argued that's why they are superior. I wasn't saying they're superior, just bringing up why they are the better choice for some people. It's all a matter of taste and financial situation, really. Like, for me, I can't play Morrowind on Xbox any...

Besides, I can go out and buy an Xbox 360 for 150-200 euros today. Microsoft never seems to run out of those things, seeing how every time my 360 breaks down, they repair (read: replace) it for free, usually within a week. Wow, really? I thought that they only "repaired" (for free) ones t...

Okay, I was looking for flaws. That's not the point, the point is why spend money on a game when you get that same game free with better graphical enhancements free. Well, for one thing the achievements; I figured they'd be a lot harder but they're still cool, and humourous. I'm a sucker for braggi...

My problem is that many of the console-friends I want to play with don't want to buy it (they'd rather spend it on changing their gamertag every 3 months and buying gamerpics and themes they never use) <shudders violently> Can you imagine what it is like to introduce Marathon: Durandal to a person ...
