This came out real good in the end. I'm having a blast playing it.
Hit me up when you're making an update, W'rk. I kind of liked making yugeparts.

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
One more thing before I go. I edited StupidLevelThatSucks. I made two things that looked bad look less bad. I also made all the edges around the pool monster impassable. It'd be annoying if enemies fell in there and you had to jump in after them. If you could double check the sound on this for me I'...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
I took the coward's way out and just raised all the floor elevations along the edges to make an easy 90°. It's the best I could do with the time I got. Here you go.

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
No problem. They were bothering me too, but I didn't really have time to weed them all out. I'll see what I can do but I'm traveling to Serbia today and don't have much time for editing. It's alright if you don't use it. I might fix it up for the next one. I at least fixed TelephoneBooth. Still hard...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
Well it's June 30th here, and I've got the rest of your maps. Here's 2 Yugerooms, an ammo room, 2 starts, 6 intersections, 2 corners, 2 medium rooms, 6 hallways, and 8 saves. 26 parts. I know I went a little overboard on the saves, but I figured that if I made one or two that stood out they'd be eas...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
Just a quick last minute question. If I exploit your ST_# tag, could I get areas of the map textured uniformly wherever I want? Because I have a couple sections with a lot of intricate detail in polygons sometimes smaller than 1/8 x 1/8 WU. It'd look a little freaky if they were all different colors...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
I've got a pack of about 25 more maps coming in just a few hours. It's 2 hours from June 30th where I'm from, but America's still before the deadline.

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
These are pretty cool, President People. Yugeroom 2 has an awesome atmosphere, and the lighting makes Corner 2 look badass. I wasn't really paying attention earlier, but is lighting going to be retained in the finished product? It'd be a shame if that went to waste. I just want to point out two thin...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
Hey thanks. You can change whatever the hell you want. It's cool. You know I actually started putting in doors because you mentioned that more detailed maps might cause some trouble, and I wanted to reduce view distances. I'm used to map-making in forge though, where that was a recurring problem, an...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
Thanks a lot for explaining it to me. After playing through that little demo you sent me I think I've gotten a decent idea of how this works. Sorry for overdoing it on the detail in that yugepart. I just looked at the ceiling and thought it looked too plain—I couldn't help myself. But it's like 250 ...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
Hey, I've got another question about how your program works. I'm curious about enemy distribution per polygon. If I have a 1x1 WU polygon that I set to superglue, that would create one ranged monster I assume. But if I have a massive polygon set to glue/superglue, it'd be a little lackluster if the ...

Re: Mararthon: Yuge / YugePax
Just a quick question: it doesn't matter if all the maps I sent you are textured, does it? They're just textured with 1 texture, so every side is the same, just to test the flow. Ryoko's maps are also textured, so I don't think it's a yuge deal.

I think I can shit out a couple parts by June 30th. I'll play around with it today.

No: AlephOne is not dead. This forum sees activity, if sparse, and netgames are still hosted.

Re: POLL: Current state of Marathon and the community
There are still some projects being worked on more or less—albeit at a snail's pace. I check in on the Halathon thread every couple months to see the progress.
Re: Sankara
Alright, I just might release it then if you guys want to try it out. If you guys have ever played Blizzard's "WarChasers" scenario on WC3: Reign of Chaos then you might get a kick out of it. It's a pretty standard dungeon-crawler sort of level with a simple layout that Marathon could hand...

I've been around for a while, but I've never posted. I think I actually wrote here once in 2008 or so asking for help doing something hacky with anvil, but I've always been a lurker. I really like mapping, but I've never uploaded anything. I thought my shit was alright too until I saw the quality of...
