My bad, I should have added a smiley :) It's cool, I didn't have time to look into it so I put down my own app instead. Not trying to be condescending or dismissive. I was gonna sayâ?¦ Weland's a fabulous app (I haven't had any trouble with it) and as the dev... Oh, Poe's Lawâ?¦ my bad, too, taking...

Probably shouldn't use Weland either then, I guess... I'm not trying to be a dick here. If there's something elementary I'm doing or not doing then enlighten me. So I'm some meddling child, whining to mommy about how my map won't work to you? Stop treating me like an amoeba to your Mozart. I've tes...

The engine doesn't create points and connect them, the editor does. His geometry looks OK, but chances are MarathUP is screwing it up. I recommend against using it. Well, I don't deny that MU is doing something screwy to the maps, but I just made this quick map from scratch in Welandâ?¦ same result...

It operates, essentially, off of a 2D plane. It lays out the map based on all of the (x,y) coordinates of each polygon and how these polygons connect to each other, and then draws in the height afterward. This is why you cannot have those bridges and balconies. But it's also the root of your proble...

Somehow you deleted all of the lights from your map. Opening it in Weland shows you only had one light to begin with. Also, it appears that you put multiple vertices on the exact same coordinates, and they connected themselves. You can't have two vertices in the same spot unless they're for the sam...

I've only heard of one other user ( jessenator ) using MarathUp to make maps other than the one that results from it's included tutorial. If anyone cares, here's my 2.5¢: MarathUp has many pros, and many, many cons. I think MoppyPuppy sums up the intense pro-side of using MarathUp, however. By the...

You always want a slight margin where an object may come into contact with a surface like that. In general, it's better to just avoid situations where 3d objects intersect with walls and poly sides, since it can cause problems with rendering. Naturally. I was just getting pissed at, what I thought ...

Ok, So upon further testing I've discovered that the perspective, at that range, affects the 3d OBJ files differently (albeit slightly) than the steps. Moving about right next to the steps made it clear- the top of the cylinder was skewed looking up from ground level, but the top of the cylinder mee...

I don't know about Maya units, but according to the MML guide, Aleph One's 3D model loader uses internal units, i.e. 1/1024 WUs. You can adjust this by changing the scale attribute in the model MML. Maya can model in mm, cm, meter, inches, feet, yardsâ?¦ but I guess what matters is the OBJ-to-AO re...

As far as adding 3D object functionality (I've downloaded the demo from Simplic7y) is there a correlation between native world units and the units we model with in our respective 3D programs? e.g. are 10cm in Maya equal to 1 world unit in marathon or something similar? I looked here and here:http://...

Helping people with project X is a more risky business. The fail rate is high, and you only get a percentage of the glory. Say 10%. :D At this point, glory isn't in my sights- I just want to help out- as implausibly altruistic as that sounds. Eventually my own project will get to a better point to ...

Make 3D scenery plugins for marathon infinity. Ignore all other requests. :D I thought you could do that alreadyâ?¦ maybe it's just items. I replaced the grenades with a simple, custom-made, low-poly belt. The max poly count for 3D objects in AO is low (at least the last time I looked at the specs).

@ Pfhorrest to clarify, by EXO, you mean the weapon models for Eternal? I've got EternalX on my drive and can see what I can do about building them myself- if it's a matter of convincing CyroS to hand the models off, that might work, too, although I'm picky about trying to figure out someone else's ...

He looks like he's been shopping a lot :) How did you get those light effects? 3d? I likey. hehehe, stopped off for an ammo fix.
