WHERE THE FUCK IS MARATHON GRENDEL!!!!!     Coming from the guy who said: I don't think anyone actually cares. I was just being a dick. And then later... Nobody actually cares. I told you that. Again, it was funny at first - though only just barely - but now it's...

Re: Vacuum weapons with anvil or physics editor one
I'm pretty sure that to change which weapons work in vacuum you need to use an MML file containing the appropriate changes. This can be done by including code that looks something like this: <items> <item index="" maximum="" invalid=""/> </items> What you would be inter...

Re: Blastfrog's shitty suggestions thread
Trolling is never the proper response - I think that's the point we've been trying to make this entire time. There is, if I may paraphrase you, no "perfect amount of douche", there is only being a douche, and being a douche is always bad.

Re: Blastfrog's shitty suggestions thread
I agree with Blastfrog that expanding the Marathon community and making Aleph One accessible to people currently outside that community should be a top priority for A1 development. And I'm also uncertain about where people like irons or W'rkncacnter fit into that picture.

Re: Blastfrog's shitty suggestions thread
I agree with Blastfrog - the Pfhorums have been made quite ugly by the rude and childish behavior of certain individuals, particularly irons and W'rkncacnter, with no small amount of support from others such as RyokoTK. Yes, maybe Blastfrog's suggestions were not the best. Yes, maybe he didn't reali...

Re: I broke the SMG, please help me.
What exactly do you mean by 'gone'? Gone from where? Are you unable to find the SMG on the map, or is it that you pick it up and then it doesn't seem to show up in your inventory or lacks a visible sprite when you try to hold it?

Re: Physics and Shapes editing.
Well, the first thing you should try is modifying the standard Infinity physics file. You can download that here. That should give you a nice template to build out from for making other physics files.
Just thought I'd point that out.

Re: Marathon 2 Soundtrack
Well, assuming you want the music to work on a level-by-level basis (i.e. the same way it worked in Marathon 1), then the first thing I think you'll want to do is use Atque to split open the Marathon 2 Map file. What you're basically going to do is split open the contents, add a new text file that s...

Yeah, that makes sense to me. That's certainly what I always meant when I said I "beat" a level/scenario.

Re: The Stupid Questions Thread.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Marathon engine just checks to see whether you are "running forward" and then decides whether to apply extra damage because of that. It doesn't really care which way you are looking, just so long as you are running "forward".

Re: A New Hello from an Old Fan...
Yeah, you might have an easier time over on the Marathon Story Forums . There's less discussion of the Marathon/Aleph One engine and game design and the like, with a higher focus on the story of the Marathon series (naturally), but the community is a little... *cue understatement* ...easier to get u...
