Bad idea:

1) Made by different authors, for one, so you'd need to get all sorts of permission
2) Not everyone wants everything or can handle everything
3) Some graphical updates (TTEP for one) have multiple options

i was thinking just as an option, not a delete everything and replace it with this sorta thing. it would make it incredibly easy, and more people would play, i think.

So basically you're asking the engine to do things it's not set up in any way to do.

it does everything just fine for me. i use every update, texture pack, transparent water effect i can find, and it works no slower than the original.

Then your computer is better than mine, but you're only addressing a part of #2 anyway.

a part of #2 anyway.

hmm?

EDIT: just realized what that meant. the permissions would be no more than asking the people who made the things to allow me, or whoever, to put it in a package. i don't see that as a problem, seeing as there is no money going around for this. is there something in the license that says you cant?
I don't recall any options in the texture enhancement packs... the additional scripts?

There is, at least for Shots Fired.

We are working on ways to make add-ons easier to install and configure in Aleph One, which will make an all-in-one enhancement package unnecessary and undesirable.

We should at least have a low-poly AlephOne-rendering 3d marine before we think of anything like that.
