Right! I didn't even know what puzzle was being referred to when I first read it had been short-circuited, as it was not note-worthily hard in my memory.

Although I prefer the original, I did like the shuttle exposition level, despite it's bugs. If I were tempted into doing an overhaul of M1, I'd put in some (secret?) terminals somewhere with the manual text, and start you off in the hangar rather than PiD. Map out some of the external views, put Tau Ceti in the landscape texture, replace the ship on the final screen... makes me wish you could put M1 damage polys in an A1 map.

I think ouch polygons work in M2 maps in Aleph One. I think an irons net map used them.
