Does the number of polygons affect the map's loading times?
I ask because I am currently working on massive maps and I don't want to wait so long.

Does the size of polygons affect the map's loading times?
I ask because of the same reason I asked the first question.

Are polygons loaded numerically by their indexes, or are they loaded randomly?
I ask because I sometimes index polygons all the way across from each other.

Are polygons loaded together at each height level, or are they loaded individually?
I ask because of curiosity's sake.

Are polygons with three sides quicker to load than polygons with more sides?
I ask because of the same reason I asked the first question.

If anyone is good with the map mechanics, please try to answer some of these questions.

I do not think that polygons have a significant influence on load times. The number of HD textures in the map seems to make up the bulk of the loading time.

This must explain why Software rendering is instant. When's the last time Aleph One has updated it's OpenGL version?
