This is a thread for the second round of the Art Challenge so please post your submissions here. I personally don't mind if people also chat here about the artwork but please keep all useless crap out of this thread.
Guidelines
- Challenge: Jjaro Concept, How does this mysterious race look, feel or sound like in your mind?
- Deadline: 1st February 2007
- Art Styles Allowed: Everything. Poetry & Prose, Paintings, Photoshopping, "MS Painting", Photography, Music... you name it.
- Submissions per. participant: unlimited
- Everybody are welcome
- There will be no winner or loser, this is mainly for fun.
- Personal Opinions on each others artwork are of course allowed, but for the love of all that is good, try to be mature in your comments. no flaming!
- Deadline is 1st February 2007
This second challenge is intended to challenge the participants to picture something in their head which they've never seen before, and it's also meant to challenge the participants to use different ways to express their vision of the subject (the jjaro). Be it poetry, music, acting, painting or whatever. Try something new. this is a challenge, a opportunity to try yourself in different areas than you are used to walk in.
*** IMPORTANT! - If you have borrowed some art online from someone to use in yours, please do credit the real author in the same post you submit your art. It's truly disgraceful to steal art! ***
Art Challenge II: Jjaro Concept
Here you have a short poem:
Like a mystery we cannot solve
We can see your traces
Like the shine from a star
you're hiding your destruction
we marvel at your power
we're traveling where you've been
soon nothing will remain
in this world unseen.
Like a mystery we cannot solve
We can see your traces
Like the shine from a star
you're hiding your destruction
we marvel at your power
we're traveling where you've been
soon nothing will remain
in this world unseen.

I think you just answered your own question...O.T.E. wrote:why do you post "for those of you who have DA accounts?
But...I'm assuming he posts those links so people with DA accounts can see the art...He's giving people options...
The Pf'hak - Read it.
Science technology jargon physics.
Science technology jargon physics.
but people with no accounts can already see the art, so whats the point?

This ones sorta primitive photoshopping. The thing is from electric sheep 3. For some reason that "steps that falter fail" line is stuck in my head.
Ill try again later with the white jjaro logo, hopefulyl well get a bit more detail.

I'm on it
I've made a few pages with concepts, so when I stop being so lazy I'll try to scan and upload them.

Exactly.
Phobos, i think your picture is awesome.
Maybe the next Art challenge could be about the W'rkcacnter.
The sun and jjaro symbol are from marathon.bungie.org, the complier is from Durandal's shape file. the text was copied and pasted from marathon.bungie.org.

Phobos: Your picture's great, but it suits what i think the W'rkncacnter looks like, not the Jjaro. Maybe it's the eyes. Ofcourse, your picture makes the Jjaro look God-like, which is a good thing.
Shadow: I like yours. Not much to say about it, but I like it.
Alice: Great picture, but once again, slightly not what I think the Jjaro look like.
Also, I would suggest that the deadline is lowered slightly. 1 month is a long and boring time, and it will get forgotten. Maybe it should be 2 weeks?

How about one week? But you can still post entries after the challenge ends.
2 weeks sounds good. although i thought a month would be fine if somebody decided to do a slightly bigger project.
It seems like my project won't make it though, i was recording a 6 minute drone song in a sort of "jjaro feeling" which i was gonna submit but now my iBook has been sent to the city for repairs so i guess i can forget that song for a while.

Lugas, the point of this contest is for the artist to present how THEY think the jjaro look like!Lugas wrote:Alice: Great picture, but once again, slightly not what I think the Jjaro look like.
lol nice pic Alice, H.R. is so creepy cool!
What I said to Phobos (that's not how i would picture the Jjaro) is the same for Alice. Great pics from both contestants though.Dieselfame3 wrote:Lugas, the point of this contest is for the artist to present how THEY think the jjaro look like!
