Steve Jobs angered when Microsoft bought Bungie

Chat and discussion not related to either Marathon or Aleph One. Please keep things at least mildly interesting, though.

Hi all

Might be of interest

""He was mad at [Microsoft CEO Steve] Ballmer and phoned him up and was angry because we'd just bought the premier Mac game developer and made them an Xbox developer.""

Might make fakesteve.net ?

hux: If he likes Halo, try modding for Marathon, the older Bungie fps game.
interkin3tic: Noooo!!! I did that in high school and look where I am now: SLASHDOT!!!

I always wonder what it'd be like if Bungie had stuck with mac.

Maybe the pc/mac versions of Halo would have had better multiplayer..

But aren't we assuming that in this alternate timeline where Bungie stuck with Apple, Mac gaming as a whole is probably better anyway?

I was going to post something about how much Microsoft and Bungie owe their success to each other, and how Halo wouldn't have been Halo if the acquisition never happened.

Instead, I'll share a drawing I made at the time, about 10 years ago now, when I was in high school. I realize I'm exposing myself to ridicule, but this doodle perfectly captured my feelings at that moment.
