Ah. Considering this was when you where a kid, I take it you've been here a long time.

I've been here for less than a year & I already love this game to bits. Great games never get old. In fact this trilogy's older than me, I'm only 18. This game proves that graphics don't make a game good, It's the gameplay that counts.

All I can say is that your generation's got the good games, my generation's doomed to play stupid shit CoD clones.

There are plenty of good games from the 2010s actually. One of my favorite games ever came out just last year: Bloodborne.

There are always occasional good games these days, HalfLife 2 & BioShock are examples, But most are just utter disappointments. One game that especially pissed me off lately is Battlefield 4. The game was ridded with bug right out the door. On top of that because I have a last-gen console, they now refuse to give me any more updates. And if that not all fucking bad enough, when I confronted EA about this issue on their Battlelog blog, I was constantly attacked by there army of rabid retard fanboys. Eventually I was banned for "slandering" EA's name, then again it wouldn't be the first time something like this happens.

Don't forget that there's a lot of great, innovative, creative indie games being made as well. And if you think about it, all those old developers like id and Bungie were the indie developers of their day and that independence was part of what helped them make great games. So, forget the EA titles and the AAA games and go look towards the indie developers for some quality gameplay (although you still need a relatively modern computer/system to play them).

One recent indie release I've heard a lot of buzz about is Hyper Light Drifter, although I haven't played it. An upcoming indie FPS that hearkens back to the '90s era is Strafe, which I think is still in alpha but looks amazingly fun; and their website is a perfect recreation of a '90s era website. And don't forget developers on mobile platforms as well. Isolani is a decent, free FPS on mobile. Our good friend Alex Seropian founded a mobile games company that made an FPS called Midnight Star, and right now I'm beta testing the sequel Midnight Star: Renegade.

Yep, but on the topic of asshole companies, Activision & EA are the worst out of all of them. Bethesda & 2K/TakeTwo are also pretty bad but not as bad as the other 2.

Edit:

How about using half assed programing, cutting last-gen console support & never producing a Mac game. Mac & last-gen support don't seem like much until you realize their lead designer (Todd Howard) contradicts himself, "if install base really mattered, we'd all make board games, because there are a lot of tables", great quote now if only he really meant it.

Meh, so I see why you personally don't like them, but objectively I don't see how a company focusing on PC makes them assholes.

I'll never understand people that get Bethesda games on consoles, since the modding community is the main reason their games are so popular. The fact that they make their games moddable and release a editor programs puts them way down the list of asshole companies in my opinion.

That's not as dumb of a quote as it sounds. Install base is irrelevant for the tabletop industry because although everybody owns a table, very few people buy tables to play tabletop games.

The number of people that buy Macs to play computer games is very limited, and that's why nobody makes games for Macs.

What about the shitty programing part? Aleph One has better resource management then their Gamebryo engine, and it's from the last century.

That's got to be a deliberately retarded comparison.

Gamebryo is HORRIBLE! I can't stress how many times I would randomly fly up into the air, fall back down & die! That doesn't happen in Aleph One!

Gamebryo is a pretty glitchy engine but if you need an explanation on why comparing Alephone to Gamebryo is patently stupid then you aren't qualified to talk about either.

That is because it has been built for a single purpose, by a dedicated people and not by underpaid laborers toiling for a thinly-veiled government-owned arms manufacturing machine (oiled with the blood of the underclasses, by the way) which exists solely to line the pockets of the greedy bureaucrats who run the military/industrial complex.

Ok, I'll compare BioShock to Fallout, Unreal vs shitty Gambryo. BioShock can run at 60fps on my PS3 as smooth as ice, Fallout constantly lags & crashes on my PS3. Need more explanation?

If you think engine sucks, that's really more of an argument for why you think their games suck, not why you think the company is an asshole.

Really? How about the fact that they refuse to fix all those glitches. There are glitches in many of there old games. Glitches such as not receiving an item as a reward for finishing a quest, & Bethesda, despite knowing the glitch exists from the beginning, refuses to fix it. I'll tell you why Bethesda likes mods. Why patch the game when the modding communities will do it for you?

Would you rather talk about Tour of Duty, and weather or not it should become a video series?
