Well apparently at least 2 people here care, so you can feel free to quit broadcasting the fact that you don't.

I was just curious why Bethesda deserved to be mentioned as #3 biggest asshole gaming company, because for all I knew, they are. I can't say I've learned much though, and am still not sure why they made the list so high. It sounds like there are a few dickish things they do, but out of all the asshole gaming companies, I'm still not seeing it.

Anyway, I think I got my answer now.

I don't think you're allowed to complain about other people shitposting.

I'll admit there one of the least asshole-ish companies out there, but that doesn't make them not assholes.

Oh ok, I just figured since you mentioned them out of 4 companies you had some specific reason for it.

The point is mostly that the hot take of "Gamebryo is a bad engine" could be shouted into a hole in the ground and the same number of people would be illuminated.

Bethesda aren't really assholes because they're making products that people want. They're lazy about it but I don't think they're being predatory or anything like that. I think companies that are blatantly shitting out garbage to make a paycheck are a lot worse and, for better or for worse, you can't make the serious claim that Bethesda don't put effort into their games.

You mean sloppy, lazy just doesn't have enough emphasis.

No, I mean lazy. I can't fault them for the engine being glitchy, it's a large scale game with lots of opportunity for stuff to go weird. They're just lazy for not patching them out as they're discovered.

Uh....Red Faction: Guerilla is an open world game with the most advanced physics engine & it runs smooth as ice on my PS3. It runs well above 30fps.

Actually I am. Red Faction: Guerilla is also a large scale game and I haven't found a single game breaking glitch in it. What makes it even more comparable to Fallout is the fact that it's open world.

All software has glitches. It's not sloppy to write a program that has glitches. It's lazy if you don't try to patch those glitches out when they're discovered. Hope this helps.

The point of mine that I think you missed is that Gamebryo is sooo glitchy, it's as if they didn't even try to make it good!

In my experience, one should never assume malice when incompetence is just as likely.

Perhaps we should consider exercising a bit more patience when dealing with new arrivals? We can't expect everyone to adjust to the... "unique" dynamic of this community over night.

Anyway, this thread is producing nothing but pointless bickering between those of us who should know better. Perhaps those involved should step back a bit and consider their position from a different angle?

It's hard not to take some things personally though, like that time you keyed my bicycle and peed on my hamster.
