Pattern Buffer Always Causes Crashes

Was looking forward to replaying the series, but discovered that the Pattern Buffer terminals consistently crash the game to desktop every time they are activated, making it impossible to save the game (and thus to play it... without crazy ability, that is).
I tried some obvious steps, like running as administrator and messing with compatibility settings, to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is this just an isolated issue?

I appreciate any help that can be offered :)

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (6.1 Build 7601)
GeForce GT 650M (352.86) // Intel HD Graphics 4000 (
Latest Aleph One version, All three Marathon games
Happens with all renderer settings (though I'm intending on using 'software')

I really don't know much about this sort of stuff, but
this topic may help.
It helped another who was having buffer problems.
I just play 'em; I don't know how they work.

Ah, thank you! Totally fixed it.

Dunno how I missed that; clearly not too good at UTFSE lol
