Elevation Limits

Questions about the content creation procedure go here, including using Forge, Anvil, or other editors, or operating emulators like Basilisk II.

I figure I'll put this in Editors

What are the elevation extremes for maps? I know that with Forge it was -9.0 to 9.0, presumably because of the limits of Infinity or maybe the average mac's capabilities... now that there are other methods, like MarathUp and we aren't bound by Forge's cutoff, is there an elevation limit for the aleph one engine?

thanks.

You can use chisel to elevate maps beyond the height limit, but Forge will bitch if anything's above the limit. If you say, make two 1024 polygon maps, then you could elevate one 18 WU heigher than the other, and then stick them together with Pfhorge. In my experience though, combining maps with Pfhorge doesn't always work quite right.

Forge can infact view maps over 1024 polygons, and even edit platforms and stuff on them. Forge can't do visual mode on <1024 poly maps either.
