Here's how copyright works. When something (let's say a texture) is created, it gets filled with the JUICE. When it is copied and used somewhere else, the JUICE does not follow it. Not only is something without JUICE worthless, JUICEless things are illegal.

Simple as that.

I will reply for other people benefit since the event wasn't mentioned it is possible to claim the copyright but the rules are diferent for graphics anyway and you can't pirate freeware opensource [MOh] [spnkr]

and I have worked in a copyright office to weed out those definately not valid for a copyright and textures such as those in half-life are some of em
