If you're still on a PowerPC Mac (like me) you probably noticed some necessary tools for developing on AlephOne might be a little hard to find. Lucky for you I have them posted here. Blender is a free 3D modeling program however the latest versions require the dreaded intel only Snow Leopard. Luckily I found that Wayback Machine archived the last Leopard PPC build (2.63a) here: https://web.archive.org/web/20120717001 ... t-blender/
You're also going to need a way to run Weland, but you'll need the Mono Framework to do so. Unfortunately Mono stopped distributing old releases not too long ago and Wayback couldn't archive it due to Robots.txt. So I uploaded the last PPC version (2.10.2) to my google drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4MMIF ... sp=sharing
I can confirm these all work on Leopard PPC, not sure about Tiger. All other tools should work without problem. Happy Editing!

After doing a bit more research I found that the last Tiger & Panther compatible build of Blender (2.49b) can be found here on Wayback: https://web.archive.org/web/20110209211 ... t-blender/

But if it weren't for this computer I wouldn't have found this community, for you see this is one of the last few games/communities that still supports the Power architecture.

As fans of an old Mac game, I think we can appreciate the struggle to keep old stuff working and viable. But on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if no one else has a use for those links you've posted. Still, I commend your good intentions.

Thank you. Anyways, do you know of a way I could make this thread in to a sticky so it stays at the top of the list?

Why don't you just bookmark the thread? You're acting like there are other people that care about PowerPCs.

I'm pretty sure there're other PPC users out there who could use it. After all, AlephOne appeared on PPC Latitude as one of the last PPC supported games: http://ppcluddite.blogspot.com/2014/01/ ... -time.html

I think the search feature can lead people back to this thread pretty easily.

Before I conclude this thread may I ask what's with the hostility towards legacy users (specifically you Wrkncacnter)?

But a 68k Mac's not a new computer, you know like the one you desperately want me to get.

Much as a stagnant pond will engender millions of mosquitoes, your old hardware has generated many threads. We're merely going after the source.

as long as this means you'll stop asking how to get around the limitations your hardware imposes, sure

There's a way around every limitation.

Oh yes, a special thanks to you AlumiuN for helping to prove my point that back porting is still a possibility.
i know a sales team that would hire you in a heartbeat

It's not that. I barley have experience compiling code, I've done a bit of MML before: http://pfhorums.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=39240 ,but source can be a pain in the ass. Not sure what's worse, waiting 5 hours to build the code only to find that it failed and you have to start all over again to test different variables, or that if it does succeed then you realize that you didn't otimize it well and it runs at 5 fps.
