I believe Tycho was intended to be just as bland and boring as Leela in M1. Actually, Hathor's role in Chapter 1 pretty much mirrors Durandal's in his early rampant stage.

Found it! It's ctrl+shift.

Anyway, now, difficulty in Run Coward seems a lot more reasonable, no more orb using turbo mode. Thanks for the fast update, Phorrest!
