Modifying the Aspect Ratio
Hello... I was wondering if there was a way to modify the Aleph One engine to display Marathon Infinity in 1280 x 405 256:81. This aspect ratio will allow the fov to be increased without the illusive speed increase, while also fitting the width of my VGA Monitor. Not only do I want 1280 x 405, but I...

Re: Liquid Triggers
Untested pseudocode to get you started: Triggers.monster_killed() local leak = true for m in monsters() do if(m.class == "bob") then leak = false end end if(leak) then Tags[0].active end end Where the liquid is tied to tag 0. That's how I'd approach it. So if I insert this into the game w...

Re: Liquid Triggers
It sure is. You will have to count the number of monsters on the level, and also account for the player being a monster. That's simple enough. Monsters() iterates through all the monsters, so I'd start there. If you would like a smooth water rise without using a scripting loop I would imagine it mi...

Liquid Triggers
With a combination of map triggers and lua scripting, is it possible for me to trigger a liquid rise in the level when the player kills all of the enemies?
If so, how does one make water rise? It's very strange how the whole system is set up.
What do the tide levels and the parameters do?

SPOILER ALERT My new scenario's plotline
For my new scenario, I've decided that I wouldn't improvise on the story and so now things will actually fall in place. I've written a rough draft of the overall scenario story. As always, SPOILER ALERT! 2810, UESC Gotengo en route to Lh'owon from Tau Ceti, Ship AI Diamonte responds to Pfhor Invasio...

Heinous Visual Mode + Auto Map Key Error
This is bull****. Whenever I am in Visual Mode trying to texture my maps, I press the Left Shift key to enable the Auto Map/Overlay . When you are in the Overlay/Auto Map, you have access to change texture effects , texture flags , texture opacity and texture snapping . But for some reason, whenever...

Re: I'm getting back into mapmaking.
Are you thinking solo or multiplayer maps? I'm working on a solo scenario with ideas from my KILLMOO project. Tester friendly? Well, first off, you know those textures normally used for doors? Ditch that, and make your doors use the same textures as the surrounding walls, with no difference in ligh...

I'm getting back into mapmaking.
There is nothing the haters and the trolls can do to stop me.
All I ask for is support and advice that will steer me into a tester-friendly developer.
Any thoughts?

Because on December 21st, 2013, it will be the 19th anniversary of Marathon. Dude, you're the moderator, you should be all over this before anyone... I think what he meant was that 'M1A1' usually refers to the versions before the recent betas; you know, back when the game didn't use the original Ma...

I am stuck on a pseudo 3d script for Marathon because it keeps saying that I'm comparing Boolean to a value. I'm not going to allow you to download my log to tell me what everything is, But I will allow to you to download the script. "Why, what are these delicious pfhoods you speak opfh?" ...

I would like to congrats you on completing this project. I respect version 1.22 very much. However, I have a complaint, and I haven't even play-tested it yet.
