Vidmaster Remastered - ft. the synth from the CD tracks.

Hey folks! I'd like to present a new project, my interpretation and rearrangement of music from Marathon. https://music.neoteaika.com/album/vidmaster-remastered https://i.imgur.com/5cCIgan.png In the Halo community I lead a project called Odyssey, which aims to document all of the original audio gea...

Re: Marathon Jam, a random piano thing...

Thanks. Yeah I'm pretty bad at playing on non piano stuff because the thinner keys result in my fingers slipping off and I was trying not to do anything that resulted in. I might redo this in a sequencer (my normal in time stuff) sometime later. Glad to know the piano works well, I'll probably start...

Marathon Jam, a random piano thing...

Just messing around with a new piano synth I found. I think it sounds pretty nice with some minor adjustments. I need a sustain pedal, but more of it used sustain than not so I turned it up and went with it even with the fast stuff. This formatting has gone on too long so toodl-oo. It's just a rand...

"CD"ing non CD M1 tracks

Some of you may know that early CD releases of Marathon had seven songs covered by Alex Seropian himself with synthesizers. They have a unique and cool (imo) sound to them, but only seven songs were covered. (Landing, Splash, Rushing, Flippant, Freedom, Fat Man & Leela) I think it would be cool ...

Re: How the hell do I edit sound files?

Shapefusion I think. If that fails you can try Anvil in an emulator like SheepShaver or Basilisk II.

Re: Space0ut, a (terrible) duel map...

http://imgur.com/a/QIqOw I've removed the standout textures (including courtyard floor), and lighting should be smoother, better, and completely identical on east and west sides. I'll fix alignment later. http://i.imgur.com/b1oaJpI.png?1 http://i.imgur.com/nsjfbbu.png?1 I've moved the teleporter to...

Second level, LAVA!

New map in progress, Heated Discussion. This one is a lava based arena with two rooms overlooking (with staircases down the sides to) a central lava courtyard. I plan to make the courtyard submersible by a switch system which can be deactivated to lower but also automatically lowers after time back ...

Re: Can I replace weapons midgame with slightly different on

Thanks, so it's between multiple versions of the weapons, or per-level MML?

I'll start looking into scripting after I've got my head securely around mapping.

Can I replace weapons midgame with slightly different ones?

On a (long ago) project I was working on, one of the ideas I had for the scenario involved your weapons being replaced with upgraded versions that controlled slightly different (changes in accuracy, and vacuum usability), so I messed around with the pistol, SMG and shotgun graphics to make draft pic...

Re: Space0ut, a (terrible) duel map...

Space0ut 0.02: I have improved upon suggestions from above (Thanks for your feedback, every bit helps!), and balanced out the south side a bit. http://i.imgur.com/RHfAy4M.png?1 http://i.imgur.com/bccozEv.png?1 The teleporter in front of the south spawn was a sort of anti-camp measure so a player cou...

Space0ut, a (terrible) duel map...

Screenies (Can't seem to resize images if they're in an album so they're here) Space0ut is a one on one duel map (though the first five teams each have a single spawn). Small, and with a split second between cover and sightlines, this map is fast and frantic. Shotguns, Fusion Pistols, Assault Rifle...

Re: Here's how to make maps nowadays!

I've merged the Forge tutorials with timestamps here if it may be helpful to some people. (I found that attempting to play them in a modern player results in the videos being converted, but also inflated to stupidly large file sizes in the gigabyte region, and this may be better than separate videos...

Re: Issue with Vasara 1.0.2 (string Solo Lua...)

Ah okay, I thought it would mean there would just be empty spaces in the texture list. I'll edit soon whether that fixes it.

EDIT: Fixed under Marathon Infinity, and I got it working in M2, thanks.

When released, are the 'solo' maps and netmaps going to be the same package?

Also since the last post was a while ago, how's progress?

Re: Issue with Vasara 1.0.2 (string Solo Lua...)

I have Vasara loaded as a (single, latest version) plugin. I thought maybe it was a version issue, but I can't find older version downloads anywhere to test it out, and my original Windows rig with all my mod stuff is at a repair shop at the moment. (Weland always crashed for me, but doesn't on Mac ...

Issue with Vasara 1.0.2 (string Solo Lua...)

Hello all. Whenever I open any map in vasara (I've tried my own, and Durandal's normal maps) Vasara's interface doesn't display and it's features don't work. In the top left of the game screen I get a print out as follows: [string "Solo Lua"]:1012: attempt to index field '_freeze' (a nil v...

Re: Neonstar's Music Tidbits (Updated 21th July)

Exams are coming up for my school and we have mock exams in three weeks, so my stuff will roll out a bit slower. On that note, Splash is done, I'll upload it later today after school.

EDIT: Issues with SoundCloud, I'm trying to sort it out, so delay for a bit.

Re: Neonstar's Music Tidbits (Updated 21th July)

Updated Frog Blaster's Original version to sound more like a CD track. (Changed piano to something better sounding and added some nice sounding chords.)

Added Endeavour (Kinda my idea of maybe what M3's theme would be like)

Re: Neonstar's Music Tidbits (Updated 15th July)

Thanks for the giant bucket of feedback! I'm glad people are enjoying my work, and more glad that some parts are fitting. I'll be taking all of this feedback into consideration when I go through and rework everything before making a track replacement for M1. There'll be two versions, one will be the...
