Re: Website (For reallier)
I’m basically fighting with my own emotions and my handicap makes me ask too many unanswered questions. I can’t decide but I’m aware that I’m supposed to stop with gaming and work on other things. Everything I hate about life is coming from gaming and I’m not enough capable of working with a game. ...

Re: Website (For reallier)
Good work. No matter where you go it will involve taking steps. It's not bad to notice when you step across any given threshold.

Re: Triggering terminals on a polygon
So I would call Triggers.init and have it set so that if player is in Polygons[whatever].area, Players[0].activate_terminal ? You'll put an if statement inside of Triggers. idle , presumably something like "if Players[0].polygon == terminalPolygon" where terminalPolygon is Polygons[n], n ...

During the teleportation from one level to the next, the Marine interacts with other reality streams: Half hallucination, half shadows figments. You're not really shooting bullets at Marines, but the player's mind can't comprehend it otherwise. The designers of the teleporter deamed it a bug, not a...

Re: Website (For reallier)
Progress! Your characters have well defined jaws now. And you've carried over your shading as well, which works well here. Being able to shade more complex shapes to proffer depth is good. $lave makes a good point, you could pull off a webcomic. I mean, most likely you don't want to theme it around ...

Re: Website (For reallier)
Sanity is largely a matter of perspective. Many people do awful things and these things are rationalized and deemed sane, with terrible regularity. In the most rational sense, I would suggest that sanity is a matter of how cohesive and consistent your reality is to you. However, when most people spe...

Re: Website (For reallier)
In general? Add more content. Always, this is the answer. More creation yields refinement of techniques and style, as well. Picasso made so much stuff, some random thing he drew on a cocktail napkin went to auction and sold at a ridiculous price. Well, the price doesn't matter so much (avoid ego-cen...

Re: Website (For reallier)
Not bad! Good, clean, simple static website. A very strong start. As a friendly suggestion to take or leave: Where possible, use some margins and left-align the text in places where there are many words so as to enhance readability. Headers and such look great as they are, but the longer paragraphs ...

Re: Website (For reallier)
I am getting worried about something. Something sensitive. Have I done something way wrong that you people knows about? Is that the reason I'm ignored? I don't know if you've done anything horribly wrong, I suspect it's more that your posts don't mesh with the flow of the board, or something like t...

Re: [question] Jump, but only a limited height
Plugins are simply a way to package Lua/MML. No magic there as far as capabilities outside of Lua/MML. The entirety of available controls are listed in the MML reference. Action triggers in Lua are limited to what Lua will recognize. What the hell "Action Trigger State" is in MML's keyboar...

Re: Mr. Project DX
Still looking awesome, as always. Thanks! ^_^ To make sci-fi environments you don't require a-lot of realism cause reality looks different when time keeps on going. However making Aleph One look like today's urban with realistic lighting is a-lot more of an achievement than plasma tubes. I think it...

Re: [question] Jump, but only a limited height
The only problem with crouching as I see it is that you have to put the player's position (or that of their feet) under the floor with a pure Lua approach. The alternative is to use running for crouching via physics, which is obviously horrid for those who enjoy running. If you only want to run, you...

Re: [question] Jump, but only a limited height
Ahh, naw. I think you're good actually. You don't seem malicious at all. Just think before you say stuff like that. Trigger warning is lame no matter what. If you're gonna throw a punch don't tell somebody you're gonna throw a punch, just do it. If you don't believe in your opinion, why will anyone ...

Re: [question] Jump, but only a limited height
Eh, the Lua works fine. Who wants to listen to people talk anyway? If anything the mic key should play a fart noise by default. I mean, having some action key triggers for some configurable arbitrary aux keys would be neat, but I don't expect that to happen, and I know I'm not going to make a branch...

Re: [question] Jump, but only a limited height
Did some fooling about with this. Adjust the variables at the top and play with it to see what works for you. Note that messing with external velocity and positioning of the player will result in funky stuff, don't do that (unless you're bored.) Just use acceleration. Could always also tweak stuff i...

Re: Unfinished Terminal script features
Camera stuff in Lua is pretty cut and dry, but you're always replacing the entire screen with the new camera. For MPDX I had separate objects that you could interface with to look through cameras, kind of like Duke. You can do some overlay stuff with HUD scripting to make it look good, as well as ef...

I have gotten away from the will to spend the rest of my life with Bees and I take the silence about the Xbox port for Aleph One as "It won't work". My will to make these happen isn't gonna come back anytime soon so I may just put up that, recently I've read an amazing web-story and it in...

Re: 3D Models
What was that Marathon scenario that was built for the Dim3 engine? If Dim3 can make games like that then why can't we just download it and use it for animated models? Unless you said something in that topic over there which I haven't read yet, it seems to be the only way for now. To summarize myse...
Re: 3D Models
Thanks. Anyway. EDIT: You know people. Maybe I should make something more of her than just a testing character. I can lear Lua some other day(Or use the dim3 method) cause now, I actually believe I'm good at 3D. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dlzTZy9ctG_jl0vQm6wgE4_DG4p6qGdR Xitia's blend file. ...
Re: 3D Models
Didn't know you can put bump-mapping on a 3D model. But I doubt that's required for what I had in plan. The test character I planed on doing has plain colors, but it might be more different than I think it is? Well, try modeling that character to a 3D mesh and see how it goes. There's a lot that go...
