[MUp] If you can write as well, you should be doing a Marathon webcomic.

Re: Excalibur: Morgana's Revenge

I vaguely recall having correspondence with someone from EMR several years ago when I was seeking some of the original artwork for dingbat use in Marapfhont. If this thread is still relevant, maybe I can try to dig it up.

Maybe hound poison would swap in the original textures for 5-10 seconds. "Leela, help, my eyes! Everything's gone blurry!" [MLaugh]

whither Traxus? and other changes

First, hi again. It's been a long time. Circumstances forced me to take a break, but now my kids are old enough to enjoy shooter games, so I've introduced them to Marathon a little bit. Thought I'd stop in here to see if anyone was still alive and actively working on anything. Very exciting to see j...

Re: inertia

I wonder if inertia was coded this way by accident and then left when Bungie realized the possibilities of being able to control mid-air movement, or if they had the idea first and did it intentionally.

Re: inertia

It's always struck me as odd that people keep developing higher and higher resolution art for Marathon, to make things look better and "more realistic", when the game engine itself is very obviously not. Changing the playing experience in this way might be fun.

inertia

If there were a patch to toggle realistic inertia in A1 (fall/fly in original direction, not facing direction), would it be accepted? This would definitely change gameplay when enabled, and I imagine there would be areas made unreachable (i.e. access relies on midair turns), but would the Trilogy st...

32×32. Except for terminals and pattern buffers. Those should be 4096×4096.

Re: Some Marathon art I drew

These are awesome! Would love to see a "family photo" type group shot of all the different character types.

Hmmm...what would an entire scenario done in a "cartoony, kid-friendly" type style look like? That would be a trip.

Re: Pfhorpedia

What the fuck is this? With that attitude the Wiki will never get updated since Marathon hasn't been relevant in 10 years. Oh well, might as well let it die. No point of editing or contributing any information to the stubs or missing pages. That four sentence summary for one of the main antagonists...

On the other hand, I was looking at Traxus and it has some issues of its own. For example, this page is ridiculously out of date: http://traxus.bungie.org/index.php/User:BenUrban. It's a (non-encyclopedic) user page. If the user doesn't update it himself, nobody else is going to do it for him—nor s...
