Maybe you already know this, but make sure you set your film profile to a1 in the preferences when trying to play back old films.

Re: Atque for Catalina
While I appreciate Treellama's passion, I would just like to remind all cult members that the proper way to handle things is to burn -v onto people's faces. Thanks.

Re: Eternal X 1.2
Clearly the correct answer here is to leverage the stash feature to communicate with the HUD about where precipitation should be drawn, and the HUD handles the rendering

I think he's saying by merely creating an effect, the global random number generator gets used. Doesn't matter what's in your lua.

Re: Marathon Glow
replace the application from an Aleph One app to an Infinity app. (Like how Susannah did it) If you're distributing an alephone scenario, you should only provide the data files. It's up to the user to get alephone to go along with it. You appear to be distributing a mac app, which makes it hard for...

Re: Flying monster melee attacks
Kamikaze ticks have a melee attack, and if you uncheck the "kamikaze" falg, you can see them run up to you and drain your energy. It stops working as they fly up too high though. One thing I noticed while making AOPID was if I made a monster's projectile spawn too low to the ground, the monster woul...

Re: Aleph One 1.3b3
Not sure I understand the reasons, but both issues were caused by using effects that disappeared after the animation ended. It seems to be working OK now. I understand why effects stored in a table would no longer point to valid objects after the animation ended, but I don't get why they would be po...

Re: Aleph One 1.3b3
You're using scenery for precipitation? Why not effects? AlephOne apparently dies due to an assertion upon reloading a game if there are more than 128 effects. Doesn't matter what your dynamic limits are set to. Edit: Also apparently there's some weird behavior with effects where if you create a ne...

Re: Project Conflict
FYI to everyone interested in this project, I was able to use the shapes/physics from this and combine it with lua to streamline this whole process. With my version of stuff, you no longer need to specifically set up maps to make them work with bots in a single player game. Project Conflict is still...

Re: Triggering terminals on a polygon
What you want is find_target and activate_terminal in the lua docs. If the player is looking at whatever scenery object, is within a certain distance, and hits action, you can activate whatever terminal you want.
You don't even need find_target if you want to just step into them to activate.

At least one person has suggested that if the folder contains lua or mml, it crashes for them. Not sure if that's what's happening here.

Also keep in mind that this place only has like 4 active members at this point, and they all basically are just talking to themselves. The pfhorums are not the right place to be if you expect actual interaction with other people.
