Re: New metaserver for online play

It looks really good! It's pretty awesome to have a server dedicated to Marathon. Great work, everyone. I also like Zott's suggestion about having the most recent data at the top.

Re: Weapons In Hand

A long overdue update is here! Most notably the plugin has been updated to work with Aleph One 1.0 and later, but there are also new additions like an optional translucent scope effect for the magnum.

I just tried this out recently. Original Marathon compatibility is an epic feat. Congratulations! And functional DPDI sounds sweet, I'm looking forward to trying it. The option to save films as videos is also a fun surprise. You guys are definitely made of the Hard Stuff. [MUp] [MUp]

It can and it has, with a little dance I call the glance.

Not that circle strafing is ideal for dodging attacks from enforcers, but wouldn't it be best to do some tests with them? Troopers too.

I haven't played in months, but people were still playing it then. Infinity is the standard for online games. What's not working? I heard the server was temporarily down recently, so maybe it was that.

Nah, just quoting the part that matters for people who don't want to read such a long post. By the way, I like the red.

Any reason this beta wasn't officially announced here? Original Marathon restoration is a big deal, and I would imagine more people testing for bugs would help.

From there you can go straight along the blue ledge to keep the high ground. You can jump off the ledge to the left, in which case there's a good chance you're jumping into the fray. If you do jump off, do you jump off before, after, or while you pass the platform? Jumping onto the platform could t...

For a given position, how does the player become more powerful? That's what pulls the player through your map. Most of the time, the desire to find my opponents so I can shoot them is what pulls me through a map. When a game really nails this, you can look at a screenshot and assess both the player...

Why in the world is there lava on the Marathon What makes you think it's lava? I've always thought it was molten metal from a blast furnace. It would make sense that a deep-space colony ship on a 300-year voyage would need at least one! Especially when one of the advantages of converting a moon int...

Fastest Linux Distribution

What would you say is the fastest and/or best Linux distribution for use with Aleph One? Particularly for Internet network games.
