I'm not going to look at that for two reasons:

1. You didn't e-mail it to me.
2. It's not a map.

Follow the rules next time, thanks.

Geez, so much hostility. It's not like Karuma's a douchebag or anything. You want to get mad at someone, get mad at Godot.

Some of you may remember the July 2005 mapmaking contest (resulting in the map pack Victory Dance on fileball). Anyway, now there's a July 2006 mapmaking contest. Learning from my previous mistakes, this contest is much simpler. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, HERE ARE THE RULES: - The deadline is July 24-- a...

This is an old picture, from a single 5-minute bloodbath on X-18. Notice, in particular, the corpse pile in the far right corner.

I can already tell that there will be an issue in those two dead-end rooms, and probably trouble all around those tunnels, especially with both shotguns and rockets. Unless I'm totally misjudging the scale of the map, flow is going to be totally off, but you could fix it easily enough by adding anot...

I know you don't need me to tell you this again, but you're definitely one of the best mappers I've seen in a while. Keep it simple, keep it fun, that's my adage, and it's a good one. Keep it up, irons.

M1A1 adds a host of minor changes -- the biggest (and worst) change is the PID thing, and that's over and done with in seconds. The rest include stuff like some ridiculously hard secret levels and fixing Colony Ship so that the end puzzle isn't so damn hard.

I'm staunchly against time penalties in all situations, but in 1vs1 it's the worst. The big thing is that it builds up a slippery slope kind of thing for the player. Imagine a 1vs1 on Duality, and one player suicides. Well, now the other player has 15 seconds to grab all of the ammo on the map (whic...

I also playtested Sacral, and I agree with Irons. Out of the two levels I've played, this is by far the superior one. I'm not really good enough at SP to actively beta-test for you on TC, but I'm willing to give your levels a run-through from one mapper to another, if you want that. [MSmile]

I'm confused though. Why is this thought of as a new thing? I mean, look at S'pht bolts, Cyborg grenades, and Juggernaut Rockets. Those seek, why is this so special? The Marathon engine didn't allow the player's shots to seek, even if it was the same projectile. Don't believe me? SPNKR rockets are ...

A few of my own words on this topic: 1. Hotline isn't the only place to get map help from people that actually know what they're doing. #alephone might not have as many good mappers as HL, and certainly fewer "big names" in the community, but it has more people that at least know what a go...
