There's also a mod that restores a cut Warthog run on the level High Charity. However, when I recently played it I found out to my chagrin that it consists of just the warthog run replacing the whole level, and doesn't simply replace the end section of the level, keeping the rest of it up to that point like I first thought. (that's an idea for an update to the mod if BlackDimund does one)

Due to this it might be worth trying the hog run second after the first level, then switching it back.

I have screenshots of this warthog run too from when I played it.

The "Cursed Randy Version" refers to the original Gearbox PC port of Halo 1, which sucked without mods. Halo CEA used that version of Halo 1 as a base for its Classic Mode but the Master Chief Collection version has finally restored the Xbox graphics to Classic Mode, including the missing bump maps.

I've decided to postpone the Halo SPV3.3 comparison writeup as it will take longer than the SPV3.1 one and I've got other stuff to write, watch and play. I hope to cover PID Redux and since someone on the Story Forum mentioned wanting to do a book Tour of Duty somewhere, I also want to do a side series on Doom and how I feel it connects to Marathon, but the latter may be on my log for a bit first for obvious reasons.

EDIT: Scratch the bit about Halo SPV3.3: I changed my mind a day or two after posting that as I felt my OCD wouldn't let me rest until I get it done so I've gone and done it so my mind is clear for Doom.

The Doom one is inspired by Narc & Funkmon's ASE podcast LP of Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, much like how the side trip to Doom 2, Brutal Doom Extermination Day & Doom Eternal in the Marathon Eternal Tour of Duty was inspired by the Doom 1 gag Narc & Blackstar did in their M1A1 co-op LP: I was doing the same thing as them but for Doom's two counterparts to Eternal (Sgt Mark IV's M1 Redux esque Doom remake and the Doom game named directly after said Marathon game)
