Press the report button and Ryoko will use his magical powers to destroy the spam-human. (he's posting more than once)

Yeah, but how could we prevent them from even spamming in the first place?
There are a few ways for Appleswitch to restrict access from new accounts, but none of them are particularly appealing. The workaround that we have now is adequate, assuming we don't get too much more spam.

another spammer is abroad.
Actually, the spammers have breached the current workaround. They spam into random topics and then create their own.RyokoTK wrote:There are a few ways for Appleswitch to restrict access from new accounts, but none of them are particularly appealing. Believe it or not, I've actually noticed that.
I came on after class today to find that I had 10 new messages in my inbox. Many wtfs were had.

It could be an actual person who's spamming rather than a bot this time.

This is not the world of the spammers ploting to attack the pfhorums, this is just one script which checks against out current system, I'm sure all of the bots registed and getting around that system are from the same IP range or email system and would be easy to add to the ban list.Lugas wrote:Actually, the spammers have breached the current workaround. WHy dont we hire some sort of... noobsecutioner? A person who has the authority to ban any account with under 5 posts? We could take care of crime the old fashioned way!

Because I can do that just fine? There's plenty of people here who have banning rights, we don't need any more.WHy dont we hire some sort of... noobsecutioner? A person who has the authority to ban any account with under 5 posts? We could take care of crime the old fashioned way!
