If you want a good campaign, Marathon 2 is the way to go. It's not as dark or cramped as the first one or ?.

I'm still working on Zerberk... a few days per year. I have a zero player alpha that's growing slowly.

Anyways, added some S'pht stuff. Poor creatures.

I've been playing a few levels into M1 and M2 so far. I've already read most of the story over at Bungie.org though...

Wow.

I've been following your art for a while now, and I never expected to see Marathon art from you. Looks great as usual man! Like you, I love revamping old game series, it's a lot of fun.

I'm 'deimos-remus' on the Conceptart.org forums, not sure if you remember me asking you about my Ghosts 'n Goblins project.

Oh, and by the way, is that Durandal in your avatar? :D

I'm not around here much, but I'll always let you guys know when I've completed another picture. I just finished this P'fhor Egg.

Awesome artworks arne, like Nathan92(my bro) I've been following your art for quite some time! I'm also surprised you drew some Marathon stuff, it being as obscure as it is. Always looking forward to more redesigns(would love to see your rendition of Shadowrun for the snes)!

That DOES look good, it appears as though it wasn't drawn but rendered.

That's all photoshop I understand. Not a rendering for sure.

It's all Craig Mullins

Thanks for the compliements guys. Yeah, Craig Mullins pieces don't use any 3D rendering, to my knowledge.

The one with the Cyborg jumping through the air is by John Wallin, I think.

I don't know. I just found them on the internet. I think I'm going to implement them into an iphone Winterboard theme. Does anyone even know what that is? Or am I the only one?

Hello again.

Here are some quick doodles of monsters from Pathways into Darkness.
It's fun to see the Lovecraftian setting clashing with the colorful enemies.
Some of them look like something you'd see in Dragon Quest.
It appears some of the enemies were adapted into Marathon enemies,
like the floating mustache seals and belly mouth guys.

Also, an attempt at a late 80's manga styled Marathon cyborg.

Wow, that's really great stuff! Really captures the PiD feel.

The cyborg is cute! Especially the little one. I've been looking for that kind of look for MPDX.

(p.s. I also enjoyed the images, just addicted to Robotron and showing it.)

I did some work on Zerberk last year, but it's difficult for me to find the focus.

Anyways, I have added some more enemies to the sheet. I haven't played PiD but I assume the cloud guy is the final boss/god. Afaik he isn't very active. He doesn't even have any rotation frames.

Agreed, I think I may finally be considering an avatar. (With Arne's permission of course.)

I'm not sure if these gray scale blurbs will work as an avatar, but go ahead. Speaking of a head. Doodled on my avatar.

Also, I've added the PiD images to my Marathon page.

Also, love the PiD image with the floating seal ('nightmare') that Craig Mullins did. Very atmospheric.

I have seen your art in the past Arne and I have always been a fan. Great work. I also like to dream up old game redesigns in my spare time.
My only suggestion about the Marathon designs is the lack of the "control glands" on the back of the Pfhor heads (sort of a tentacle thing). I forget the specifics about their actual use or purpose but I think it's somehow incorporated into their technology where it "plugs" into things. I can imagine that might be incorporated into their troopers/hunters/juggernauts (plugged into the armor) in a way similar to Ghost in the Shell or something. The normal fighters are free hanging.

Great job on the PiD art as well. I only played the demo back in the 90s.

EDIT: I remember Tycho mentioning that he needs the glands of a commander to take control of the ship. It was followed with an image showing the gland of the pfhor being planted into some sort of device.
