Hi guys. Sorry about this, but as I have an OSX and no Classic, the Carbon Installer for TC19 will not work. Can somebody post the ported files, please?
I'm posting this because the upload link coffee sent on an earlier thread is broken.

Seconded. I've been fighting Basilisk for weeks and the guides I can find aren't incredibly helpful.

Link me to the installer, and I'll extract them.
Bump? Please?

Thanks, but my computer's Stuffit expander says that it doesn't appear to be compressed?

If you're on at least OS X 10.3, you can try the The Unarchiver.Dugit wrote:Thanks, but my computer's Stuffit expander says that it doesn't appear to be compressed?
It seems to handle file decompression much better than stuffit or the built in BOMarchivehelper.
:EDIT:
Nevermind, The Unarchiver doesn't work for me either - says it can't be extracted.

I have been wading in a long river and my feet are wet.
I'll extract it and put it in a zip later I guess
Here you go. tc19.zip
I assume 'r' means recurring?
All I'm getting is a folder called 'r', yielding a zip file called 'r', yielding a folder called 'r'...

If you were using Safari, it was supposed to automatically keep expanding itself until your hard drive was full. However, it would appear all I was able to accomplish was wasting a little of your time.

The installer didn't work for me, even on my old computer, which has classic. The same goes for Pfh'Joueur.
Love Marathon, and also play Doom on modern source ports? You might like these skins!
I may take a look at the Carbon Installer and see if a way exists, possibly from the vendor (MindVision? - My Power Mac with OS 8.6 (and CarbonLib 1.6 is off now), to extract at least the map file. The issue appears to occur with an application embedded within the TC 19 Carbon Installer App called the "Shapes Shuttle". Since it errors at the point the Shapes Shuttle is moving the pict resources to the new shapes file, than adding the index of TC 19 shapes, the whole process fails, save for the TC 19 images file. The Carbon Installer should be okay with classic Mac OS 8-9.2.2. Dunno about Mac OS X running classic. HFS+ should be okay, but who knows the pedigree of the Shapes Shuttle (as Anvile is used to create the Shapes Shuttle app). I'll also try the TC 19 Carbon Installer in Mac OS 9.x.x and see if that helps. I think Anvil and Forge run only in Mac OS 9.x.x. Not sure now.President People wrote:The installer didn't work for me, even on my old computer, which has classic. The same goes for Pfh'Joueur.
I got Pfh'Jouer to install sometime ago, actually, some years ago. I used an application to convert the Pfh'Joueur map, images, shapes, and so forth to the macbinary .bin format. You then remove the bin and the file names for Pho'Joeur may appear as:
Pfh'Images
Pfh'Map
Pfh'Shapes
Pfh'Sounds
Aleph One looks inside the bin file and sees the file type. I think the Pfh'Jouer installer was reposted as v1.1, correcting a prior install and other issues.
The Pho'Joeur music is sampled at a rate Aleph One cannot handle.
I'll fiddle with the TC 19 Carbon Installer and let you know.
More scenarios here: ftp://archives2.bungie.org/
Most of these are probably in the classic mac format as resource & data fork files, tho, and may require conversion to play in Aleph One on Mac OS X and Windows.
cheers,

Pfh'Joueur is freaky.President People wrote:The installer didn't work for me, even on my old computer, which has classic. The same goes for Pfh'Joueur.
Marathon Scenarios will always have its own spin on the Marathon Universe, and will never be truly canon unless made by Bungie.
However, Pfh'Joueur is one of those scenarios that I hold in the category of "Bizarro".
The scenario is so weird its unpleasant.
and it got the best title theme!
What are you, if not seven different shades of stupid?
I want to play it so much! Can you please upload the shapes, sounds, physics and map, please?

Messr. Dugit,
I'll put in a .zip for you. But I don't have a place to post it. I guess I could the silly google document feature (where you can't move email attachments to the google document thingy). Or I can upload and email it to you.
I found the full Infinity Mac version here:
ftp://archives2.bungie.org/archives/inf ... 9_full.sit
The stuffit file contains all of Infinity files to play on Mac OS Classic or X (I guess). I converted the Images, Map, Shapes, and Sounds to the MacBinary II file format on the Mac, removed the .bin extension, and plopped into a clean Aleph One (current version) directory in Windows. No Physics file comes with it.
I found Apotheosis for Aleph One. Some hair pulling fun!
ftp://archives2.bungie.org/orphanage/sc ... heosis.zip
The version of the flame thrower in this scenario is an absolute riot!
I'll see what I can do to post or you (and others) can send an email to me on this phorum. A few days ...
Let me know. Happy Holidays!

Well, that's a fine how do you do as Oliver Hardy would say in a beleaguered tone to Stan Laurel.
Um, I'm ready to post:
The Classified 19 (19.6 MB .rar)
- and -
Pfh'Joueur v1.1 (32 MB rar)
Both for use with Aleph One on Windows converted from the Marathon Infinity for Mac Classic OS files.
When attaching the files to my follow up post to this thread, The Pfhorums displays an upload whirly-zipple, than indicates an error as the user did not attach a file. Windows is fine as is the browser and network access to the firewall. Two different Windows workstation on two different networks some miles apart. So, a server error or limitation. Perhaps I've not posted enough topics, from prior forums software experience (as user and admin).
I've searched the The Phforums and cannot find a reason preventing me from attaching these files.
I'd rather post here for all to access.
Please advise.
Boo.
Welp, the good part is I get to motor around in the awesome Volvo 240 in NE Washington state some more.
Thanks,
MacDuff saying, "Happy Friday everybody!"

Normally, you aren't supposed to redistribute things without explicit permission; but, around here, if you can't contact the author, and they didn't explicitly prevent distribution in a README or something, you should be fine. I assume you sorted that out.
I wrote this guide a while back on the wiki: http://source.bungie.org/index.php/Cross-p..._Scenario_Guide
Some of the stuff is still valid, like adding scenario MML and making a zip file (seriously, don't use rar, that's probably why you can't upload here). Using Atque to merge instead of MacBinary is now the recommended approach--that way, at least, people can open the map file in an editor without unnecessary un-MacBinary-ing shenanigans.
You could upload the final result here, but it would be more effective at http://www.simplici7y.com/ or http://fileball.bungie.org/ or both.

What...is the classified 19?
It's Moppy

Just don't listen
Just finished it now. It certainly shows its age, but it's by no means one to miss out. Some of the levels are mediocre at best, whilst others, especially the two Pfhor ship ones, are uniquely challenging (especially the second one) and generally fun to play. The plot's quite interesting too.ellio7t wrote:A pretty decent scenario. One that never got further then the first chapter.
There's plenty to play for just one chapter. I'd definitely recommend it.
EDIT: I'd also appreciate it greatly if you could upload Marathon: Dissent and Pfh'jouer? Thanks, Bitko!

Treellama, no, I did not contact the authors. Shame on me.
The Classified 19 (epz@bungie.org) includes a permissions statement clearly indicating the included data cannot be altered in any way if posted (redistributed). Candace Sherriff (Pfh'Joueur - shebob@shebob.com) does not include such a statement. Had I done so properly, I'd have contacted them before modifying and posting on this phforum as proper etiquette no matter permissions or copyright statement.
Apologies. I'm glad the .rar files did not post.
I used MacBinary II for myself as that was what the research suggest a few years ago to convert Classic Mac OS Marathon files to Windows Aleph One. No offense, but the suite of information on all marathon and Aleph One tends to not be findable by a google search. By the date of some unimap scenarios, the MacBinary unimap seems to be quite dated for some years now I find. I did not exhaustively research the matter.
If I receive permission from the scenario authors to convert these scenarios properly, I'll then look into using those modern tools you reference for conversion and not use the MacBinary method.
Thanks and apologies,
Happy Sat-Your-Day.
