It started maybe around 2003, but this was sometime after I discovered about Aleph One and how I managed to get it to run Marathon 2 on it, from that point when I discovered about their texture enhancement project, I decided to do the ones that were unaccounted for, even re-doing the ones that they did (sometimes editing part of their enhanced tiles). It was going fine for awhile until my external HD was killed, and I lost ALL OF MY workfiles for the textures I made. Fortunately the actual png'd textures didn't die since they were in my native drive. Because of the external's mess up, I abandoned it for a couple of years before deciding to pick up where I left off. So it's a slow process but I'm close to completing them, and looking back, I'm considering re-doing what I've done to make it look better. So anyways, here's a preview screenshot I took many years ago when I was doing the project. Second attachment shows the original while the first shows what I did so far.

Ooh Nice texturing.

Is there an echo in here?
Is there an echo in here?
As well as texturing the tiles, I did some subtle effects to them, but one of which required the code changing in the texture script files.

Whaddah ya know? Yet another ASW folk is here. Welcome, Coraxus!
It's a good idea. I have some of the other texture enhancements and love them.

Nice work so far with the new M2 textures, Coraxus.
The texture pack you're linking to is out-of-date though, destroyer E. There's a version out in a format that provides a much faster loading time as well as better quality. -->Total Texture Enhancement Pack 6.1.
..Works together with Aleph One 0.16 and up

First post I saw...
2 thumbnails of "What about bob?"
Which thumbnail had YOUR textures?
Because I think the second one looks way better than the first.

looking good there, Coraxus.
Are you doing 'em in 1024*1024, though..cause that's the max size of the Textures in the latest version of the 'Total Texture Enhancement Pack'
Btw, not sharing Moppy's opinion about the pix of your 1st post
And here are the same Textures from said enhancement package ( in the 256*256 version for easier comparison )

Unfortunately, they're all being done in 256, but that was back when my comp wasn't as upgraded as it is now, I didn't even have OSX during the project. Also, if I had been planning to max it out, I would of done it at 512 cause that was the max at that time. But you could not imagine how big my PSD files were growing for each texture tiles I was remaking, gah! It would of made my G4 400 too constipated.

Wolfy says the maximum now is based on hardware; ATI cards support up to 2048x2048 and nvidia goes up to 4096x4096. The graphics preferences in Aleph One now adjust replacement texture size without requiring texture files of a certain size ... in case anyone didn't know.
Wow...just wow....dang.....

I'm assuming you're asking a question...
Hmmm...
Try checking the box or get online and go to the manufacturer's website and look.

Actually it can only do this with DDS, because DDS textures contain mipmaps--that is, the 1024x1024 replacement textures also contain 512x512, 256x256, etc. all the way down to 1x1. Aleph One just picks the right ones based on the texture quality menus.irons wrote: The graphics preferences in Aleph One now adjust replacement texture size without requiring texture files of a certain size ... in case anyone didn't know.
Tempus Irae's new textures are 256x256 and they look great. I'd personally rather have authentic-looking 256x256 textures than the 1024x1024 TTEP, some of which look nothing like the originals. So, I welcome this effort, if it means higher-res, authentic-looking textures.
