Kinda reminds me of one of the characters (specifically the rifle and mask of) in the Marathon 2 fake movie trailer I saw on YouTube some time ago.

I still feel a little shudder down my spine every time I see this - it really brings me back, and shows how freaking awesome Marathon would look in super HD.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?
A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

One of the few drawings I am studying for my own pfhor redesign for my project I mentioned in the other thread. In the description it says it was for Marathon 2, yet it is clearly not the final design based on the eye pattern. I also wonder what is up with the small tubes or wires on the back (natural or synthetic). In this design, looking mostly based on the original pfhor, it also seems to be missing any indication of a mouth. Or lower jaw for that matter.

Wow. The artwork for the redesign is so much better than the one they actually chose. Same goes for the pfhors.

There is actually quite a bit of concept art out there. I think I remember a series of infected pfhor designs which mirror the flood in Halo. I guess they figured it just wouldn't work out that well with Marathon when planning the concept. Anywho...
The shine on the bottom image seems to hint that they were debating to make the "head" of the compiler to be glass, allowing the real form to be seen.

You're thinking in reverse - the bungie.org logo came from that drawing. I don't remember where I saw this, but when Craig Mullens was asked about the 'logo', he commented that he didn't remember drawing that and that it had no particular significance.

Really? Cool.
I wonder why the rest of that landscape was never shown in chapter screens- it looks awesome.

More Marathon 2 concept art that pondered the concept of "fungal zombies". The idea was ditched for the Marathon series at least...

Lefthand of the paper shows the death animation of a Pfhor, then the rising up as a zombie. This hinted that perhaps the enemies you killed in the game would later come alive as a fungal zombie.

Hmm... The ticks have webbed fingers... Interestingly enough, no hints of fungal Flickta. Perhaps they were not created yet or they were the result of what was coded of the fungal zombies when the idea was scrapped.

It's adorable that the pfhor still has his third eye on the bottom.
And the s'pht came out of his shell! KAWAII! [MLaugh]

Hmm... I would like to have seen the Fungal Zombies in action, but I think it's a good idea not to have it. Why would the S'pht release a virus that didn't kill the Pfhor, instead turning the Pfhor (and themselves, as we saw above) into zombies instead?
