No?Dugit wrote:Do you mean the player is a ghost, or is in a haunted area, or in a dream level?
A ghost is one of the covenant vehicles in halo! :S
Thanks!Fell wrote:Awesome, as always so far.
It would be great if their heads could explode into confetti like in Halo 3, but I don't think Aleph One has that functionality. Keep up the good work.Fishman92 wrote:The release lol, may be a while. I have a LOT of sprites to make lol... first up, Grunts!
I have tried contacting bungie on this to ask about this, but i'm still waiting a reply.gmanyo wrote:Looks great, but are you sure this is legal?
I am using this to gain more mapping experience, and I will probably end up using some of the ideas in sundown .fier wrote:QUOTE(fier)Also, will this prevent more work on Sundown?
Here's the bible for ya! Read with care.gmanyo wrote:Looks great, but are you sure this is legal?
Thanks alot, I'll read through this later.Goran wrote:The rules for Microsoft games can be found here:

Yes! I hope Bungie does allow it.Fishman92 wrote:Thanks alot, I'll read through this later.
EDIT: Read through, now all I need is permission to use the sounds from Bungie.... But once that's done I will release
They might not, seeing as they don't even have the right to distribute many of their sounds (they get it from other places).Fishman92 wrote:Thanks alot, I'll read through this later.

This is 100% untrue. How about you not post when you don't know what you're talking about?gmanyo wrote:They might not, seeing as they don't even have the right to distribute many of their sounds

You can?t necessarily use the soundtracks or audio effects from the original game. We often license those from third parties and don?t have the rights to pass them on to you. We might mention on the community website for a particular game whether you have these rights, so you?d do well to check. And you might need permission from a third party, especially for games with licensed music.
Yes, but they also might not be allowed to distribute the sound independent from the game. If I download a sound from soundsnap.com (for which my free one year account just ran out, dammit) I can use it in a videogame which I can distribute freely. I cannot give this sound to other people separate from the game package, because it isn't mine to distribute, it's Soundsnap's. So yes, that actually does mean they might not have the right to distribute the sound themselves.Treellama wrote:So, they can't give anybody else permission to distribute the sounds. That doesn't mean they don't have the right to distribute them themselves. If they didn't, they couldn't legally sell their games.
Do you see the difference?
Oh, I get you now. I though you meant "We (bungie) cannot give you the sounds for you to redistribute" not "We can't legally allow redistribution of the sounds". I was thinking "redistribute" meant Bungie giving someone else the sound, then having that person distribute the sound. I'm an idiot, sorry, I'm really not trying to annoy people. It comes naturally.Treellama wrote:Perhaps you originally meant, "they don't have the right to allow redistribution of many of their sounds," which may be the case, but instead of apologizing for your misstatement and explaining what you actually meant, you proceeded to make an ass of yourself trying to support your original mistake. It would annoy people much less if you took the former approach. If you continue to do things which annoy people, they will start to think you are intentionally trying to annoy them, and get hostile.
